Diclofenac

 Diclofenac is a type of medicine known as Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID).It is used to relieve inflammation (swelling),pain and joint stiffness.

Available as- Tablet, injection and gel.

Uses-

1- Use to treat aches and pain such as joint pain, muscular pain and pain associated with bones.

2- Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and gout.

3-Relieve pain from musculoskeletal injuries.

How to use-As directed by the physician or pharmacist.It is taken before or after meal.

Dosage-

Adult- 50 mg orally 2-3 times a day or 75 mg orally 2 times a day.

Maximum daily dose- 150 mg

Parenteral administration- Intravenous infusion (IV) or Intramuscular (IM)-

75 mg in an ampoule given IM or IV repeated after 6 hours if needed.

Don't exceed 150 mg in 24 hours.

Pediatric dosage-

1mg/kg i.e 10 kg = 10 mg
